Me Singing (Video)

Episode 2: When the Chips Are Down
(Facebook users may need to click "View Original Post") I'm singing this new song I wrote. I wrote it for our band if it gets together over the summer and if they wanna use it :P It's a standard rockish type love song, that I hope you guys will like(haha at least I think my little tune is catchy).

But heres the thing:
-It was done on my camera phone, so the quality is bad and sometimes the sound gets dim
-You have to turn your speakers up
-I'm singing it accapella for now
-I mess up on a few spots (cause I haven't memorized my own song yet).
-The Bridge verse probably still needs some note work.
-The verses may seem a little rushed because I attempt to sing the background vocals as well.
-The Chorus will be more rock-ish, I made this video really late at night so I didn't feel like screaming :P

But I sung it all anyway, and here it is with all the lyrics so you can follow along:

(Verse 1)I just met you last christmas,
and I must say it was a surprize(was a surprize)
I've hardly ever seen you since,
but theres still this wierd feeling inside(feeling inside)
And now I've left you in the dust,
but I hope you'll keep coming back(keep coming back)...
because when the chips are down,
It's like I've needed you all along

(Chorus)When the chips are down,
I want you right by my side
When the chips are down
you would make me complete
When the chips are down,
I know you're the one
When the chips are down,
you've been all that I need.

(Verse 2)A lot of people say that,
we were never ment to be(ment to be)
And since I'm not round much,
you're intrests aren't always on me(always on me)
you'll message me on facebook,
and I wish I could see you instead(see you instead)
but I noticed when we meet,
you are more excited everytime...

(Chorus) When the chips are down,
I want to be with you right now
When the chips are down,
Your everything I wanted
When the chips are down,
I always want to be with you
When the chips are down,
you've been all that I need

(Bridge)We've shared so many moments
It's hard for me to focus
the closer that we get, the harder it is to resist
I know where just friends now,
and it might never be,
But I'm letting you know...
Cause when the chips are down,
I'll know who I'm looking for

(Chorus)When the chips are down,
I don't care what anyone says
When the chips are down,
You'd be my one and only
When the chips are down,
I'd be there for you
When the chips are down,
You've been all that I need.

A Nice Day. (DLP)

Episode 1: The last visit to Herndon
Yes I have started a new chapter of my blog, and that is occasionally doing posts about my daily life! Just last weekend I spent my last visiting weekend until I return for good on May 9th. Anyways, here's what happened.

Friday: I woke up around 10. Chilled with mom. Then, around3:30-4 I picked up Andrew from Target and went over to his house. We chilled for a little bit, playing Brawl and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. We didn't get to bad at R6V. Andrew and I did some one-on-ones to see where we left off. The first few matches we did had items, in which I got rocked because with all the pokeballs and assist trophy's it was pure luck. And Mr. GAW can get the smash ball in one hit. But once we took off items I took control. Then I ate at five guys with my dad and returned to Andrews.

I said I was disappointed that he wasn't having the smash party this week, because I stright up wanted to crush all these good people he kept talking about. So he said ok, and tried to get me a challenge. He got on facebook and talked to Anna's younger sister, Mary Kate, who I just found who I just found out existed like 2 weeks ago. The online battles were really intense but quite interesting. First of all it was really laggy. Andrew said it was like that, but from reviews I've read they said online had little to no lag, so I'm just assuming Andrew has crap internet. I started out as Lucario, and would just shoot aura balls at Andrew so he could insta-kill Mary Kate and her friend with Oil Spill, but our plans ended up failing and he even hit me with it once <_< class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_16">Lucas's A-Up where as I didn't fight Andrew very much. I started as Lucario, but switched to Falco because I needed someone a little faster because I couldn't compensate with the lag as Lucario and it worked. Overall good night, and I can't wait for brawl parties over the summer, because I want to brawl these new good people w/o lag :]

Then I chilled with my bro and Caroline for the rest of the night, and we ended up at Lake Newport Tennis courts, Lake Anne, RTC, everywhere.

Saturday: Chilled with Matt and Mae. We went to Dinoland in Reston. It's called Dinoland because it's a huge forest area with barren trees and other surroundings that make it look like it was from the prehistoric era. It was such an amazing day. So we went deep into it and found a little bridge that we chilled at and went back. It was so tight. Then I went to Andrews. J9 and Sean were there, and we played a little Brawl and Rockband. It was good to see them again. Then I went out with my parents, then chilled with Matt and Mae again. They got Lil' Andy and Evi, and we went out to this dock on Lake Newport and just talked and played catchphrase. Then we just enjoyed the view and rested on the dock for a good 20 minutes, just enjoying the perfect weather. Although we didn't really go out or do anything exciting, it was still a perfect night, and I'm just glad I got to see them for a little while. Then I went back to Andrews and talked with him Daniel and Sean, and we too had a chill night.

It really felt like summer and I want to be back now so bad. A perfect Saturday for a perfect weekend. I hope I didn't bore anyone with this post... I just really wanted to talk about how awesome a weekend I had. I'll try and keep future episodes reserved for when crazy things happen in RL :P

Summer Plans

Episode 15: Over the Summer List
So Andrew made a summer plans post recently and I want to do the same. Except I thought it would be more fun to do it in like a list. Cause I have a lot of summer plans, but if I will actually do them or not is the question.

Yes:
-Rejoin the Afternoon Hooligans Band as their faithful singer
-Go on a picnic
-Shower everyday instead of every 1-3
-Get a Summer Job
-Hit the Golf diving range a lot
-Master Lucario
-Go to Pops Concert
-Set up my Wii at home to work online
-Get stuff ready for where I'm going to live next college semester
-Chill with my best friend at least once a week

Maybe:
-Get a new computer
-Go on 5 picnics
-Play football sometimes
-Have my summer job be a Computer Science Internship
-Repair BOD crew relationships(if needed)
-Master Falco
-Obtain full ownership of the Van
-Go on a Hike

Doubtful:
-Staying off GunZ for good(like I am now)
-Going on 10+ picnics
-Sleep under the stars
-Become really good at golf
-Go Camping
-Go on a road trip
-Visit somewhere outside the country

That feels kind of like a tentitive list and I know that throughout the weeks leading to summer I will remember a bunch of stuff I want to add or delete <_< So I might be appending to this over time.

Daily Life? (LiveJournal Post)

(Originally posted on my LiveJournal)
I haven't posted in this thing since 2005! It even actually took me a few minutes to find out how to read my journal, cause I clicked "My LJ" and it took me to like a personal homepage and so I was like uh.....

But anyways, I'm kinda surprized that after clicking the friends page, how many of my friends still use LJ and how many people I didn't know had it(thanks to Dan). But I'm not sure, I want to start this LJ up again since I have a lot of history with it. But my new journal on blogger is just what my mind speaks, and this was kind of like a "Daily Life" journal for me back in the day. I don't know if I want to make a daily life journal again though since it was too much trouble <_< However though, I do understand that a lot of you use this and its a pain to get on to blogger to read my current journal, so I think until I want to start a DLJ, I'm going to post my blog posts on blogger AND here. Just because friends feedback is like... awesome to me. It keeps me going anyways. I hope you don't think thats wack XD

Anyhow... I've been kinda stuck on my current blog lately, but when I thought about it I came up with 2 really good ones. Well, I came up with 1 really good one. The first I stole from Andrew. It will probably be about my summer plans. Then my other one is probably gonna be... humm its hard to describe but you'll see. I'll deff need your guys help on that one though after I post it.

But I guess if I had to say anything about my daily life..... I'm pretty much just chillin. Class, Studing, Brawl, and the occasional party(although I'm not a huge party person and the types of girls there are even worse...). I pretty much just play Lucario(main) and Falco exculsively on brawl now. Rarely I might be Snake or Zelda, but I'm just looking to improve myself in those 2 main chars. I hope this doesn't sound weird, but I have developed a scarry obsession with Lucario. Hes the background on my computer, I watched the beginning and ending(which made me cry; no laughing) of the "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew" movie, and went on Bulbipedia(the pokemon wiki) to learn everything about him. It even showed you what moves he learned on what level. But this pokemon is so legit he deserves to be in the orig 151. But thats the only true way to win at Brawl, is to know your character inside out. Maybe thats why I'm failing life(in a few aspects), since I don't know enough about myself <_< For some reason my brain compells me to talk a lot of game and use words like "bitches" (a awful habbit i've been trying to lose for the last few months)....... but really all I want is a girl who likes Brawl and Picnics. We could get up and make sandwhiches(sp?) and chill outdoors to talk about school, life, random happenings, and hit up some Brawl in the afternoon. I mean that would be my ideal life (of course with my summer job inbetween) but it's extremely hard to find a girl who likes both of those things. Society says picnics are 1950 and its 2008, but I don't care XD Anyways, I'm ranting now, but it is part of my daily life, one of those RL quests, trying to find a girl who likes these things. I'm at the point where I don't even care if I have to have a reationship with it. I just want the things listed! Computer Science has been stessing me out though too. It's really hard work and theres a lot of it already. I mean I really enjoy programming but... I don't know. I almost switched my major to Physiology but I decided not too. I'm just glad there is less then a month to go!

Anyways, I'm sick(my right ear really hurts!), just got off the phone with my mom for a really late convo(I love my mom), and really tired, so I'm calling it a night. I'm visiting Herndon April 17-20, so if you want to go on a picnic call me! Peace and love!
~Andy (I apologize for spelling errors it's late :P)

Said then Done.

Episode 14: Do you really want to know?
So this is gonna need some input from you guys. I've got 3 situations here, all of which are sort of true in there own right. You have to answer the question, is it worth it? I give what I would probably do as well.

Situation 1: Friend out of the circle
Say you've got a good friend, who was your friend, but now they are out because of mean/rude things they have done. Your other friends and you decide to kick him/her out. You are willing to let them back, but they have a feeling now that we require some type of rules to be allowed in again. They claim coming back would destroy there own freedom. That person also has a boy/girl friend that hates us and we dislike him in return. This has happened like 2 times now. They have been a good friend with you guys for a long time though. So, do you ask to talk things over and fix it, or do you just let it go?

What to consider: Chances and friendships. I believe strongly in giving people chances, but you might think a 3rd chance is to much. Also, you have to consider how important of a friend they are, and how you would deal with the boy/girl friend(as you can just ignore him/her since he/she is stopping the friend from seeing you guys). You can also take into consideration how the friend would respond to your action of asking them to be your friend again.

What I would do: I would give them another chance. I would discuss the things she did wrong and let her back in, as would my friends if I told them what we talked about. I would try to ignore the boy/girl friend as best as I could. However, if they took the boy/girlfriends side way more often, or acted negatively to my attempt to repair the friendship, then I would move on.

Situation 2: Girl
Lets say you like a girl. Shes everything you ever wanted, and you think about her. However, she lives 2.5 hours away while you're at school. You only ever get to see her when you visit. The more you visit the more she talks to you and the cooler she seems, and the harder I try to impress her. However, you know girls make a big deal when someone has a crush on them. You made the mistake of liking her friend a year ago, and when she found out, a lot of friendships were strained for around a month. However, you fixed it, and cleaned up your act on top of that. You also know this girl would be no different, and if you told her or she found out and didn't return the same feelings, a lot would be really screwed up. Because of the way girls are, you might be friends again, but it might never be the same. Do you tell her because you'll be back for the summer soon, or do you live life never knowing?

What to consider: Her friendship. Sure you want more, but if she didn't you might never get to chill with her again. Or if you do it would be on awkward terms for a long time - long enough where you just stop being friends. However, you could also be getting with the best girlfriend ever.

What I would do: Destroying the friendship would not be worth it, especially so close to the summer. I would enjoy spending time with her too much. I would just chill until its obvious if she likes me or not, then forget about getting with her or make a move accordingly.

Situation 3: The Ex
My friend has an Ex girl friend. It was one of his longest, and probably in his top two favorite relationships. Just recently she started talking to him again. Now they talk and play games a lot. He knows she doesn't really go for guys and probably wont be hooked up with another guy for a while. But last time things didn't work out. They broke up remember? Not this ex, but another ex, who was also his other favorite, got stolen from him, and they've talked a little more again as well. Both breakups were painful, but he understands he didn't man up. Now hes deciding if he should be talking to them again. Should he talk to them again and maybe strike up a chance with the first ex, or should he not talk to them - forget any pain caused - and move on?

What to consider: The pain. If your not one of those people who can handle it, then you should probably not talk to them. Sure its messed up, but you don't want to relive the pain or have it start all over again.

What I would do: Since I don't care, I would probably still talk to an ex. I still do talk to some of them actually. Its just all good, the more friends the better. For this friend though, I would probably advise against it.

Super Smash Bros: For Dummies

Episode 13: 10 things you must know to play Smash like me!
I wrote 10 different things you have to know to win at smash from most to least important(although they are all pretty important). At home and at college, I have been crushing everyone at smash, and I'd like some competition, so I wrote this to let you know how I play the game. I hope to add pictures to this soon too!

1. Learn how to Dodge Roll
This is the most important skill of all. Performing a dodge roll requires you to hold the 'R' button and push left or right depending on which way you want to roll. The reason this skill is so important is because you can't be hurt during a roll. Also you can dodge and opponants attacks, appear on the other side of them, and get a free smash attack in. You can even dodge some opponants Final Smash attacks(Link/Toon Link, Meta Knight, Marth, and Ike to name a few)! You can almost never dodge roll to much, you can even use it as an escape, making it much more likely for you to not take damage as you run. Rookies to the Dodge roll do tend to over do it though, and dodge roll when they should have taken that opportunity to attack. Just keep practicing with it though and you should be fine.

2. Be active but not involved
This is(to me) the 2nd most important skill you must learn for a non one-on-one match. People tend to attack whoever is closest to them no matter what. So your job, is to stay out. However, if they notice you're not doing anything, then they all tend to chase you. So you have to stay active. Charge something, or jump in and hit someone then jump out. Make yourself in the battle, but not annoying to make them attack you instead. You have to let them know your there, but they have to forget about you the second after you hit them. The good part is, if you are good and they do decide to chase you, you can get a good combo or 2 and they will usually decide not to mess with you now, making this strategy almost never fail.

3. Be Unpredictable
This is also imporant. Never do the same combos a lot, or people see them coming. Try all sorts of things, like dodge rolling away when they are prepared for you to dodge roll around them, or attack when they expect you to shield. This way, no one will be able to read you or pick up on your strategy and favorite combos; leaving the opponant surprized when you use them.

4. Know your opponant
Obviously. Know all there moves, and how they work to start. Then, pick up on what your opponant does with them a lot. For example, my friend Dave is always Meta Knight. And he always uses this combo where he does his little quick up sword('A' Up) attack to get me in the air, then jumps up to me and sends me flying with his 'B' Up attack. Since he does it so much, I'm ready for it everytime. His sword thing is fast, so I usually get hit by that, but then I hit 'R' in the air, making his attack miss, leaving him wide open for me to go get him.

5. Always think a move ahead
This is crucial, but pretty self-explanitory. Think about where your going next and where your opponant is going next. This is crucial for Snake; being able to determine where you think your opponant will go is excellent for mine placement. It also helps you determine when you need to dodge roll. Always try and pay attention to everyone, and your predictions can help you avoid damage or to know exactly when and how to attack.

6. Stay on the ground; Use 'R' in the air if nessicary.
My strong advice: stay on the ground as much as possible. You have so many better and destructive options while you are in the ground(your opponant will too, but if your better it wont matter). Pretty much only bad things happen in the air: your an easy target, you can get juggled, you can't dodge roll, sometimes its hard to find a good place to land, etc. So stay down. For these reasons, its probably also better to keep your opponant on the ground, unless your character has better attacks suited to that then the ones I use. Some characters have to be in the air though, like Snake. Hes always flying to drop mines on other people. So while your in the air, and an opponant is comeing after you, you MUST hit the 'R' button the split second there about to hit you. It will make you invincible for that split second, so your opponant will completely miss, and you will return safely to the ground. Since I wouldn't suggest attacking in the air, you can never use the 'R' button to much, infact I almost always use it when I'm in the air(and sometimes you can use it more then once) -- it's really important.

7. Use Smash Attacks!
This is self explanitory. Stop doing for favorite moves that just rack up really small amounts of damage and don't send anyone flying. A lot of my friends have the tendancy to do that. Trust me, if your getting annoyed that someone has high damage and isn't dying, use 'A' Up/Down/Left/Right or the C-Stick. Then they will die. Use them a lot!

8. Never chase anyone
This is just a bad idea. Chaseing someone is just like chaseing a smash ball. When you chase someone, you usually just end up killing yourself or have them hurt you while your trying to chase them. Just wait for them to calm down(basically, be patient). You will find the right moment to strike again.

9. Use "trash talking" or "character manipulation" to keep the pressure off
This is important. You might find it wack, but it's just human nature.
-Trash Talking: Make comments like "omg look how low Andy's damage is!" or "look, Andy still has 3 lives!" This wont always work, but more often then not it does. Because if they want to win, and someone is way out ahead, they are more likely to slow the leader down, giveing you a second to get back your game together.
-Character Manipulation: I've noticed that people tend to just attack the people closest to them, even when someone else is way ahead. So if you need a moment or want to be left alone, kick or grab and throw someone into someone elses attack. If successful, that person will now be tangled up with another fighter and not you.

10. Taunt after every kill.
Not nessicary or that important, but to me, its a must. There in the game for a reason, and it displays your power and skill when you can taunt and no one can do anything about it.

Whats left?

Episode 12: More Mr. Nice Guy
So even though things were going down they are looking up. Anything you thought you knew about me is now gone, and its about time you knew what I was about if you don't already know. Just recently I have been able to clear myself of the reputation I used to have(and wanted) after realizing how awful it was.

I wanted the reputation of being a pimp. One of those dudes that looked like he always got what I wanted. I got it, but it just made into somewhat of a creeper, allowing myself to believe that sex and being the best was "all another mini-game to me". But it's not true. I'm still a virgin. And to be honest its all good. People now understand(hopefully) that sex, etc. is not even close to the first thing I went after, because I have had offers before but declined them. My old personallity blinded them from that, giving them the feeling its all I wanted. Finally I'm not being represented by the name the old crew gave my van, the "shaggon-waggon" or that dude that talks about nasty stuff. I was kinda blind I guess, thinking that the bad boy life of the party attitude would get me what I wanted. Its nice, cause now all I have left is mysteriousness, being able to keep the "life of the party" dream alive and... one more thing. I'm still notorious for being the best at mini-games or anything Mario, which I'm ok with. But now that the "dude that just wanted any girl" personality is gone, leaving only that "one more thing" left, I am almost happy with who I am.

I've been told by so many people, girls and boys, that I'm such a nice guy and that there surprised not to see me with anyone. The problem is, girls don't want nice guys. And they need more value from me aside from just being well known. They need someone who plays a ton of sports, or someone who can play the guitar, or a badass. I mean I can still be interesting or sort-of-a badass or the life of the party, but its all converted back to this feeling of me just being a nice guy somehow. When I try really hard not be a nice guy, I can't do it, because my brain logically thinks that's wrong and girls don't want to be talked to that way. But they do. And I can't help but be a nice guy, but they always finish last don't they?
~Andy
